P/N 530-099 Cover Retainer Screw and P/N 550-074 Bishop Pin Now Bronze
Products Affected: 500-710 KM Diamond Helmet w/Posts, 500-711 KM Diamond Helmet w/MWPC, 500-700 KM 97 Helmet w/Posts, 500-701 KM 97 Helmet w/MWPC, 505-086 Regulator Cover Retainer Assembly, 505-373 Regulator Cover Assembly, 525-761 KM 97 Water Shroud Kit and 505-455 (525-756) 455 Balanced regulator
The Cover Retainer Screws and Bishop Pins that are used to secure the Regulator Cover Retainer Assembly to the Diamond POD and 455 Balanced Regulator body are now made out of bronze. This change in material has been made to prevent the possibility of stainless steel galling.
We will be shipping the P/N 530-099 Cover Retainer Screw and the P/N 550-074 Bishop Pin made out of Bronze effective immediately.
Previous stainless steel and current bronze P/N 550-074 Bishop Pin, left and previous stainless steel and current bronze P/N 530-099 Cover Retainer Screw, right (see above picture).
The part number will remain the same and no change to associated procedures for maintenance of the screw is necessary.
Kirby Morgan will be installing these screws on all future production of the 455 balanced regulator, KM Diamond helmet and kits requiring these screws.
